Nanking Cherry is a small, deciduous shrub with showy pink flowers in spring. It produces edible red fruits that resemble cherries (but are closer to small plums). It is a great choice for small gardens or as a border shrub.
To germinate, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours, then cold stratify for 60-90 days, then sow 1" deep.
