Rabbit manure ships free — straight from our farm in the great state of Kansas!

These dried pellets are one of the cleanest, easiest fertilizers you can use. Unlike chicken or cow manure, rabbit manure is a "cold" manure — it won't burn your plants, and it doesn't need composting before use. Just apply directly to soil, raised beds, containers, or around fruit trees and water it in.

Why gardeners switch to rabbit manure:

  • Won't burn plants or roots — safe to apply direct, no composting needed
  • Low odor — cleaner than chicken, horse, or cow manure
  • Clean, uniform pellets — easy to handle and store
  • Higher nitrogen than horse or cow manure, with slower, steadier release
  • Works in raised beds, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, containers, and lawns
  • Supports beneficial microorganisms and root development
  • Improves soil structure and water retention over time
  • No fillers, additives, or synthetic ingredients

HOW TO USE

Garden beds: Apply ¼ cup per square foot, work into the top 2–3 inches before planting. For established beds, sprinkle around plants and water in.

Vegetable gardens: Side-dress around tomatoes, peppers, squash, and other heavy feeders every 3–5 weeks during the growing season.

Fruit trees: Apply 2–4 cups per tree around the drip line in early spring and again mid-summer.

Containers & potted plants: Mix 1–2 tablespoons per gallon of potting soil, or top-dress with 1 tablespoon per 6" pot diameter.

Seedlings: 1 tablespoon per gallon of mix — gentle enough for delicate roots.

Manure tea: Steep 1 cup pellets in 5 gallons of water for 24–48 hours. Use as a liquid feed or foliar spray.

Note: Pellets are a natural product and may contain small traces of hay or bedding material. Wash hands after handling.

  • Will it burn my plants? No. Rabbit manure is a "cold" manure and can be applied directly to soil without composting or diluting first. It won't burn roots or foliage, even around seedlings.

Does it smell? Very little. It has a mild, earthy smell that dissipates quickly after application. Clean enough to store in a garage or shed without issue.

How often should I apply it? For vegetable gardens and heavy feeders like tomatoes, peppers, and squash, reapply every 3–5 weeks during the growing season. For fruit trees and perennials, 2–3 applications per year is typically enough.

How much do I need? Garden beds: ¼ cup per square foot. Fruit trees: 2–4 cups per tree. Containers: 1–2 tablespoons per gallon of soil. A 5 lb bag covers approximately 40–50 square feet of garden bed.  Not sure how much to use? See our full rabbit manure application guide.

Can I make manure tea with it? Yes. Steep 1 cup of pellets in 5 gallons of water for 24–48 hours. Use as a liquid feed drench or dilute further for foliar feeding.

Is it safe for indoor plants? Yes. Low odor makes it suitable for indoor use. Top-dress with 1 tablespoon per 6" pot or mix into potting soil at 1–2 tablespoons per gallon.

How does it compare to chicken or cow manure? Higher nitrogen than horse or cow manure, slower release than poultry litter, and unlike both it requires no composting before use. Significantly less odor than all of them.

Is it organic? Our rabbits are raised naturally on a vegetarian diet with no chemicals or additives. No synthetic ingredients. Not OMRI certified but suitable for organic gardening practices.

Can it be used for hydroponic gardening? Yes. Make manure tea by steeping 1 cup of pellets in 5 gallons of water for 24–48 hours and use the liquid in your hydroponic system.

How do I store it? Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the bag after each use to preserve freshness. Shelf stable — no refrigeration needed.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale? Yes. We supply bulk totes and retail-ready 5 lb bags for nurseries, garden centers, and commercial growers. Visit our wholesale page for details.
